South-East Europe Railways Group (SERG) is an organization for collaboration of the railway companies of Albania, Bulgaria, FYR of Macedonia, Greece, Romania, Turkey, Serbia and Montenegro and Republic of Serbska. Those countries cover territory of 1.417.400 sq.km. (6% of the total area of Europe), inhabited by 123.4 million people (15.5% of the total population of Europe). The overall railway network in the region amounts to 31.851 km (8.86% out of the total European network). 6 out of the 10 Pan-European transport corridors pass through SERG area.


The combined transport development in the South-East Europe region was dominating item on the Agenda of the 23rd Meeting of SERG Directors General Group held on 13th June 2003 in Varna, Bulgaria.
Permanent SERG Working Group "Combined Transport" established.
SERG Directors General calls for the urgent development of combined transport within the SERG area and improvement of cooperation with road carriers and other competitors.
SERG carried out strategic discussions on the activities of their Working Groups. The intention is to improve the methods and the efficiency in general of their work.
Railways of Republic of Serbska (ZRS) - new member of SERG.
SERG Declaration on reducing the train delays at border crossings calls for more efficient activities of state authorities and closer cooperation with Railways.
